HOW
TO REACH THE REGION:
There are ferries from Santander and Bilbao, in Spain. There are located 500 and 600 km far away from Reriz.
The
Oporto´s airport is Maia. It is possible to rent a car at the airport and to
drive to the highway Porto-Lisboa. After 30 minutes driving it is reached the
exit to Mealhada. From Mealhada it is possible to by the way IP5 going to the
Viseu direction, with another exit to Sao Pedro do Sul. In Sao Pedro do Sul (sometimes
written as S P do Sul) there is a narrow bridge with an indication of Castro
Daire city.
After
travelling 30 km appears the town of Pepím, and it is advisable to drive
carefully because the exit to Reriz is a few meters going on this way that says
“Reriz 8 km”.
Before
to reach Reriz, there is a church at the left , 500 meters before the village.
Finally the last step is to ask for the “casa dos espanhois” and everybody
will kindly indicate its location.
Arriving
to the house, a person will be waiting to receive the visitors and to explain
the working of the electric machines and he will give them a copy of the keys.
If
a housekeeper is necessary to attend the house during the visit, the visitors
can ask for her. The housekeeper´s weekly incomes are 210 euros, working from
Monday to Friday seven hours a day.
From
Lisbon the way is through the highway to Mealhada, and from this as the same way
described above.
