Tricky but I would have to say - my own opinion mind you, not looking up stuff - that if the first Lethal Weapon was produced by a major studio and had major backing in the money and known talent department, no matter how badly it did at the box office it would still be classified as a box office movie rather than a cult flick which usually had mediocre stars and little funding by the studios and was produced by small production houses.
